Rape"77-year-old grandfather raped his step-granddaughter

A 77-year-old grandfather has been arrested for raping his step-granddaughter after the woman posted a Snapchat video of him raping her while she was drunk.

The 20-year-old victim, who will not be named, was allegedly plied with alcohol by James Allen and when she was intoxicated, he raped her at his home in Marblehead, Ohio. Her friends saw the video on Snapchat and contacted police in Marblehead, Ohio, leading to the arrest and charging of James Allen on Tuesday morning. The victim is being supported by officers after they discovered the unwanted sexual conduct.

Ottawa County Prosecutor James VanEerten says he believes the video clearly shows a sexual assault taking place. He says it’s unclear whether the young woman live-streamed the attack or posted the video after. VanEerten says it appears the woman was impaired while recording the video.

Allen is being held on a $1 million bond. He appeared in court Wednesday and told a judge he didn’t have an attorney but plans on hiring one.
